The CEURE Community Work Study Tutor program provides opportunities for undergraduate students who are eligible for work study and have an interest in working with youth to support their academic success. During the 2015-2016, a total of five Buffalo State students participated in the program, supporting students in grades two through four at West Buffalo Charter School (WBCS). Students at WBCS were responsible for developing and implementing enrichment programming for the EL & A after-school program. In total, work study tutors allowed CEURE to implement approximately 145 hours of programming to students in the EL & A program. As a group, the five work study tutors completed 1,232 hours of planning, programming, training, and weekly supervision; and received approximately $11,500.00 in financial support.
